COVID-19 UPDATE
We recently received the Phase 4 guidelines for facilities under the Restore Illinois plan which can be found here. We will highlight some of the guidelines and share some details about our facility:
What changes are we making to keep it in line with safety guidance?
Health Checks. We will have strict protocols for health checks of all customers and staff upon arrival. Drop off and pick up will happen outside by your car and will include a health check (touchless temp reading lower than 100.4 degrees, and 3 health status questions) done while the parent is still on site. We have extra staff so that no one needs to come to work if they are feeling questionable.
Reservations only. Cages limited to 2 customers per cage. Small groups limited to 10 (field only). Lessons will be no more than 1:4 instructor to customer ratio. Parents are asked to remain in cars but are welcome to be inside with a mask on.
Here are places where we have decided to adopt what seems to be best practices in current centers that have experience in this area.
Masks & Gloves - All staff will wear face masks or face shields when indoors and when within 6 feet of customers unless involved in physical activity. Parents may choose if they want their child to wear face masks but we are not requiring it, recommended within 6 feet of others. Gloves will be available but not required.
Hand Washing and Hand Sanitizer- We will be instituting hand washing as a primary deterrent to disease spread. We also have a large supply of approved hand sanitizer to fill in when washing hands is not practical. There are 10 hand sanitizer stations throughout the facility.
Physical Distancing/Social Distancing – We need to be honest. We find it unrealistic and potentially emotionally unhealthy to enforce the guideline that customers must maintain a 6-foot distance at all times from other customers/instructors as recommended in the Phase 3 plan. We will remain diligent about working to physically distance ourselves by avoiding handshakes, high fives, hugs and the like. When in close interaction, will protect both you and ourselves with face coverings.
Daily Cleaning. Our cleaning and the handling of health situations will follow the CDC guidelines. High touch areas such as door handle, equipment and bathrooms will be cleaned & disinfected every 2 hours. There will also be a daily clean at the end of each day.
We hope this gives you the information you need to make an informed decision for your family. We know how hard it is to navigate life during these unprecedented times. If you have more questions please don’t hesitate to contact us by email us at info@gomvpsports.com and we will call or email you back as you prefer.
